Using peer role-playing to improve students’ clinical skills for musculoskeletal physical examinations

Abstract Background The traditional curriculum for medical students in Japan does not include sufficient opportunities to develop their skills musculoskeletal (MSK) examination and clinical reasoning diagnosis. Therefore, an effective programme is required help residents improve MSK. This paper aims assess the of who have participated a peer role-playing simulation using mini evaluation exercise (mini-CEX). Methods Participants were 90 female completing first orthopaedic clerkship. They divided into two groups. group role-play focussed on MSK cases as low-fidelity simulation, structured debriefing with course supervisor, self-reflection Day 1 ( n = 64). control did participate due randomised clerkship schedules 26).
